I would say a Macbook is good only if you are into graphics and images - photos, arts packages etc. But if you just want it because it looks good, think again. You would be better off buying a Compaq (low budget) or Sony Vaio (high budget). I have a Sony Vaio and it has been good to me for about 3 years now, no problems at all.

Just like Karpass45 said, unless you are going to be doing video and/or picture editing there is no reason to go with a mac. They are expensive for the hardware you get.

However they are pretty, unlike my own laptop. I use a Lenovo Thinkpad. Does not look like much, but is powerful, economical and of course has the nub mouse instead of the touch pad.

You can go for Dell or Sony brand of laptops. They are reliable and are slightly expensive when compared to other cheap laptops like Asus. However they are trustworthy and I never had a problem with both of these brands.

well it would always depend on what are we going to use for if your priority is multitasking there are laptops that are designed for multi taskings but if your priority is grtaphics then go ahead with the macbook.

i previously own a laptop but it was quite good, its not with me anymore though because I contributed it to one of my businesses that i am a partner with. It's not that new or the  latest one but it's quite good... the processor is centrino duo and it serve me well.

Go with Mac. It can't be corrupted by any virus because of its unique OS so its good. Good luck.

I've never used Macs and I don't think I'll be starting anytime soon.

I always liked Dell's notebooks.
